20s French Army CottonHBT Bourgeron Trouser DEADSTOCK

These are French military bougeron pants from the 1920s.

It was not used on the battlefield, but was worn by mechanics while working.
Various fabrics were used for each era and purpose, but the most common is linen herringbone, but this one is a rare cotton herringbone twill. The off-white color with cotton shells gives it a rough look. There is a stamp on the inside that looks like the inspection year. The buttons are aluminum buttons engraved with "EQUIEPMENTS MILITAIRES".

Details found on older items include a pin-stitched cinch back and suspender buttons. The silhouette is tapered toward the hem. This is thought to eliminate bulk at the hem during work at the time. There are no belt loops, but the mainstream style at the time was to wear it oversized and tighten it with a belt. The material used is a relatively light-weight cotton fabric, making it lightweight and comfortable to wear in the spring and summer seasons.

The condition is deadstock. There are a few rust spots on the cinch back, but no other noticeable damage.
