50s Sweden Work Goatskin Double Breasted Leather Jacket

HISTORY

A double-breasted work leather jacket made in Sweden around the 1940s.
Originally a motorcycle leather jacket adopted by the military, it was later manufactured as workwear and was widely worn by workers at the time.

The combination of a stand-up collar and double-breasted front was rare even at the time, and it's a practical design that combines functionality and warmth. The back has a Martingales-style pin-stitch cinch back, and is a beautiful vintage detail.

DETAIL

The front is a classic double-breasted style. The narrow placket prevents wind from getting in and the body does not flap even when open. All the buttons are intact and in their original condition.

The back has a pin-type cinch back, which allows you to tighten the waist slightly. Also, to prevent wind from entering, it can be worn on either the left or right side.

The jacket is made from goatskin leather. It is a high-quality material that is lighter and softer than cowhide, and is highly durable and water-resistant. The color is a reddish brown, and the lining is made from a matching shadow-checked flannel fabric. Although it is a leather jacket, it is easy to wear and has a balanced finish that exudes elegance.

CONDITION

There is a little rubbing around the neck, but other than that there is no noticeable damage and it is in good condition.
When it comes to double-breasted leather jackets, the Le Corbusier jacket is the most representative, but the material is lighter than cowhide, making it more casual to wear, and the stand collar gives it a clean look.
