This is a moleskin jacket made by Adolf Lafon in the 1950s.
Moleskin was adopted as workwear in France. "Mole" means mole in English, and moleskin refers to mole fur.
Thick cotton threads are brushed on both sides of the fabric. Moleskin is difficult to mass-produce due to the high density of the weave, the amount of thread used, and the labor required, so it is said that workwear has been replaced by cotton twill since 1950. It is a durable cotton material with a glossy, suede-like smoothness. The more you wear it, the more it becomes familiar to your body, and it is a popular item as a "growing item" that you can enjoy aging like American vintage denim.
This is made by Adolf Lafon, a French work brand that ranks alongside Le Mont Saint Michel. The dark navy ink blue has faded and turned light blue. It has a slightly reddish hue that is hard to describe. The pockets are V-pockets, which are common in older models. Any areas that have become torn from repeated wear have been darned (a traditional European hand repair process). There are some paint stains. At the time, most people were small, so there were only a few larger sizes, but this is a rare larger size. If you're looking for one, this is your chance.
