50s French Marine Nationale Cotton HBT Salopette "DECATI" DEAD STOCK

This off-white overall was issued to the French Navy (Marine Nationale) for onboard work in the mid-1950s. It is a rare, unused example of a deadstock official issue item with a flasher and an anchor-marked "R.M." paper tag and a "DECATI" cloth label.

The material is napped herringbone twill. It is a woven fabric that has the softness of cotton but is more durable than regular twill. The combination of a simple texture and an elegant herringbone pattern is appealing. The material is not too thick for workwear, making it versatile for all seasons.
