We have a special vintage item in stock. This is a 1969 Barbour International Set Up Yellow Tag model.

Barbour's history began in the UK in 1894. It was founded by John Barbour in South Shields in the northeast of England. Initially, Barbour manufactured waterproof clothing for fishermen and sailors. By using waxed cotton, the clothing was waterproof enough to withstand bad weather and was suitable for use in harsh environments. This technology was highly valued by fishermen and workers, and the Barbour name gradually spread.

The International was developed by Barbour's second-generation president, Malcolm Barbour, who was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and an active rider himself. It was widely used in the International Six Days Trial (ISDT), an international motorcycle race held from the 1950s to the 1970s. Top riders from all over the world participated in this race, and the International Jacket was popular with many riders due to its robustness and functionality. At the time, it was also a hot topic when Steve McQueen wore it during a race, and the name "International" was given to it from this background.

This Yellow Tag model is a rare model made between the mid-1960s and 1974 before it was awarded the Royal Warrant (UK). Compared to the current model, the length is characterized by a compact balance.

The material is waxed cotton. The leather-like texture unique to this era is a texture unique to vintage Barbour, and has a depth that cannot be found in current models. There are no tears or scratches on the collar or liner, which are often seen when looking for vintage Barbour. Considering the age of the item, it is in very good mint condition. A belt, which is often missing, is included, but only the waist loop on the side of the body is missing. The zipper is made by AERO, which is only used in older models. There are no chipped teeth on the zipper. The buttons are unstamped newey buttons, which are symbolic of Barbour at the time. The waistband of the pants is not torn or stretched.

This is a rare gem among the International Series, which is said to be a masterpiece. It has the unique atmosphere of a vintage Barbour jacket that is not currently produced. Why not take advantage of this opportunity?
