H I S T O R Y

Burberrys is a brand founded in 1856 in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. Founder Thomas Burberry focused on developing practical clothing suitable for the often inclement British weather, and in the 1890s invented "Burberry Gabardine," the brand's signature fabric. This material, which was made waterproof by treating the threads, offering excellent water resistance and durability, was adopted for officers' coats during World War I and later became widely known as the "trench coat." At the time, Burberrys produced many coats that combined military functionality with distinct British style, and their classic appearance became a staple for everyday wear after the war. The Burberry check, featured on the lining, was introduced around the 1950s and gained global recognition as a symbol of the brand.

D E T A I L

This is a Burberry wool herringbone Balmacaan coat manufactured in the 80s or 90s. It features two-piece set-in sleeves. The three-dimensional construction, different from single-piece sleeves, is also wonderful.
As indicated by the tag specifications, it is a water-repellent wool material. The fabric itself, despite being wool, is not excessively heavy, making it an ideal weight for an outer layer from winter to early spring. The placket is a fly-front design for a minimal impression. It's a coat that looks good whether you just throw it on or wear it with the collar up.

It is in good condition with no scratches or discoloration. It has been cleaned after arrival. The fabric shows no signs of wear and can be worn for a long time.
