60s British Army 1960 Pattern Combat Trousers

These are British Army 1960 pattern combat pants made in 1969.

Tropical battle dress adopted by the British Army in 1943. These pants are made from cotton, with the same basic structure as the battle dress, which was originally made from wool. Two colors were available, khaki for the Mediterranean theater, and green for the British Army and Royal Air Force serving in the Far East. In 1944, the United States began producing the green color and supplied it to the British Army. At that time, all materials were made in the United States, the fabric was changed to herringbone twill, and the name was changed to "jungle fatigues." These combat trousers were produced in 1960 with the same design and were issued to the British Army.

The distinctive front pockets feature magazine pockets and cargo pockets arranged asymmetrically, a design unique to the British military. The outer fabric is a high-density woven cotton satin, and the lining is a soft cotton gabardine-like lining.
