HISTORY

    This sheepskin leather jacket has been used by French Air Force pilots (PN = Personnel Navigant) since the 1970s. To provide both warmth at high altitudes and mobility during maneuvers, it features practical and functional details such as a double zipper, an orange rescue vest, and a utility pocket on the left sleeve.
    It was replaced by a synthetic successor model in the mid-1990s, and is no longer in service as an issue item. However, due to its high level of perfection, it remains a symbol of the French Air Force and is known throughout France as a masterpiece. It is also famous as the design inspiration for Maison Martin Margiela's "Replica," and in recent years has been sampled by both domestic and international fashion houses, and its design continues to be highly regarded.

    This particular example is a model manufactured by a private brand. It is made of sheepskin and is black in color. It has a single zipper. This is a one-of-a-kind pilot leather jacket that combines the practical functionality and beauty of military wear with a minimalist design.

CONDITION

    It is in good condition with almost no visible scratches. After arrival, it was washed and oiled, and the zipper was lubricated with a spray to improve its smoothness. The smell and wrinkles typical of used clothing have been removed.
