HISTORY

This brown corduroy hunting jacket was manufactured by the prestigious French workwear brand Adolphe Lafont in the 1930s. Hunting jackets are one of the most iconic French workwear items, but at the time they were worn by royalty and the wealthy as luxurious attire for those who enjoyed hunting, and production numbers were extremely limited. Therefore, compared to workwear moleskin and cotton twill jackets, this is a rare category with very few remaining.

This is an early model with the large tag commonly known as the "Deka Tag," an early Adolf Lafon model. It is considered an iconic item among European vintage enthusiasts, and is a valuable detail that serves as proof that it was made in the brand's early days.

DETAIL

This garment is crafted from thick, heavy corduroy, featuring a bold, wide wale that is rarely seen today. The collar lining is made of black moleskin, and the pocket lining is made of blue cotton twill, evoking the luxurious feel of the period. The lining is striped flannel, and the sleeve lining is thought to be cotton linen. The rounded collar and full-length sleeves create a beautiful, three-dimensional silhouette.

The stitching is meticulously done even on the inside, and the sleeves are attached with such fine detail that it is truly impressive. CONDITION

There are paint stains on the cuffs, but there are almost no tears or wear to the fabric, and all of the original animal buttons remain. Considering that it was made in the 1930s, it is in very good condition.
