H I S T O R Y

    A sheepskin leather jacket adopted from the 1970s for pilots of the French Air Force (PN = Personnel Navigant). To balance warmth at high altitude with freedom of movement in the cockpit, it features functional details throughout: a double zipper, an orange rescue vest, and a utility pocket on the left sleeve.
    In the mid-1990s it was succeeded by a synthetic-fiber model and is no longer issued, yet thanks to its high level of execution it remains an iconic piece associated with the French Air Force. It famously inspired Maison Martin Margiela’s “Replica” line, and many maisons continue to sample its timeless design.

    This piece was manufactured by a civilian brand. It uses sheepskin leather. Whereas many civilian versions are stiffer than issue models, this one has a comparatively soft hand, making it easy to wear even for those new to vintage leather. Color: black. Zipper: single. A unique pilot leather jacket that combines utilitarian military function with a minimalist ease.

C O N D I T I O N

    Very good condition with minimal signs of wear. After arrival it was cleaned and oiled; the zipper was lubricated for smooth operation. Odors and creases typical of vintage have been removed.
